Can you explain the treatment methods (continued).............................................................................page 3

A common use of oxidation filtration in well water supplies is the removal of high amounts of iron and hydrogen sulfide.
4) Dis-infection Systems. Used to describe a method of treating water to kill, and in some cases, remove disease producing bacteria, viruses and other microorganisms, making the water microbiologically safe to use. Chemicals such as chlorine, iodine, or peroxide are commonly used in disinfection systems. Ultraviolet light and ozone gas also are common methods in disinfection systems. Not so common, but also used, are distillation, micro, ultra, and nano filtration technology.
5) Reverse Osmosis (RO) Filtration. Using the principles of Osmosis, RO filtration is a system that produces near "bottled water" quality water. This is a completely separate system, in that it only uses the existing water system for its supply. But like other forms of "almost pure" water, like the distilled water one buys at the market, the corrosive nature of RO water requires it to be reservoired and piped with only certain materials that will not leach into the water, thus becoming a dangerous hazard. RO membranes are also very susceptible to damage caused by many things found in even normal drinkable water supplies. Hardness and other dissolved salts, organics and microorganisms can all foul an RO membrane quickly. But because RO has caught the fancy of mass merchandisers and their marketing strategies, RO is finding its way into lots of homes....and without proper pre-treatment methods doomed to early failure. Because of the above and other reasons, RO is commonly found installed as a "point of use" treatment method. With Professional guidance RO is viable treatment option for water supplies
6) Neutralizing Filtration. Adding a base solution to low PH water, or acid to high PH water. Neutralizing Filtration is done for two common reasons: (1) Getting the water closer to the "neutral point" between base and acid elements in water represented by the number 7, to assist with other treatment methods that might not otherwise work if the PH is not raised or lowered from its natural state. Trying to get the water near neutral, keeps the water from causing damage to piping and fixtures, even when no other treatment is required.
